Since late last year I've been working on a very exciting project. I'm sound designing, and contributing snippets of composition to an album which, with over 60 tracks, is calling for a detailed and imaginative approach to track-laying that's challenging in its size and complexity, and hugely satisfying to work on.
It's a concept album. Story-telling songs, intertwined with spoken narration, carry an epic story of love, good against evil, and a band of close friends on a life-changing journey.
'On the Eve of the Great Battle' speaks of the tension and nervous anticipation felt by our heroic companions as they prepare to face their nemesis.
I've written the piece making use of a combination of synths, pre-existing sound effects & music samples, and sounds recorded on my iPhone.
